Born and raised in New York, Melissa, 24, of Dominican descent, began singing at the age of four.
She performed in school plays', church and concerts.
The talented artist grew up listening to a wide range of musical genres; influenced by great artists at age thirteen Melissa began composing.
Her work is diverse, her themes reveal a strong sense of sensuality, energy and independence.
In 2000 Melissa and Producer, Songwriter, and Musician Timar "SONIQ" DeMarqo of Nucleus Entertainment met, and shortly after began recording her first EP.
