What does the Russian intelligensia say about BOS? "BoXofStuFF's explosive, cantankerous, rollicking, contagious, cartoonish, sexified, deep fried, adjective inspiring brand of rock and roll can now be experienced in professional CD form. This new CD is so well produced you could bounce a quarter off it's ass and it would split yer lip. Up to now, fans, groupies, family and certain enemies had to be satisfied with hearing the songs in the dark, dank urine soaked hellraising atmosphere of a SLEAZY HOLLYWOOD rock and roll club." The new BOS CD VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, can be purchased right here at mp3.com/boxofstuff for a measly 8 dollars! Do it now! Boxofstuff live show review: MUSIC CONNECTION (LA) Vol. XXVI, No. 16 August 5 - August 18, 2002 Box of Stuff Johnny Foxx Pub Culver City, California Box of Stuff: Play hard rock with youthful energy and passion that is hard to dislike. Contact: Hot Line, 818-991-8568 Web: www.mp3.com/boxofstuff The Players: T Conrad, lead vocals, bass; Bruno Passarelli, lead guitar; AJ Falk, guitar; Sherie Harding, keyboards, vocals; Chris - the monster - Koga, drums, vocals. Material: Keeping true to its name, Box of Stuff plays a unique and eclectic mix of rock & roll that is hard to pin down if you’re playing the -sounds like this band- game. But, open the box and you will find sounds reminiscent of grunge bands like Alice in Chains and Soundgarden, as well as Aerosmith-style rhythms, and a little bit o’ funk. While Box of Stuff is unlikely to break into the mainstream with this formula, they put enough heart into the music to keep the beats pumpin’ and the people dancin’ for a long time. Musicianship: This band has such a tight sound, the members seem to be communicating telepathically. Box of Stuff has an unorthodox arrangement with bassist T Conrad as the frontman and lead vocalist. Conrad manages to conjure up enough energy to wail like Chris Cornell and simultaneously slap and pluck funky bass lines. Passarelli lays down catchy melodic riffs and should consider doing more solo work. Sherie Harding adds a great female energy and brings balance to the band with her keyboard magic. Performance: Box of Stuff is an anachronism. It would not be surprising to discover that they crashed the Wild Stallions concert and stole Bill and Ted’s transporter to bring them here from the mid-Nineties. They are nostalgic both in style and presentation. But, most importantly, they bring to the stage a youthful energy and passion that’s hard to dislike. Summary: Box of Stuff is worth looking into. While their packaging is a bit dated, there is some great - stuff - inside. This band has talent, passion, and sincerity –– three important ingredients for success. Unfortunately, success might have been easier for them to attain several years ago. But, with bands like Creed in the spotlight, you never know. ––Jana Summers The alternative rock press has also weighed in on the amazing retrorock BoxofStuff sound and given 2 sticky, sweaty, enthusiastic thumbs up: "...just when you thought you were in the midst of that dreadful retro "80s invasion" Boxofstuff shows up and makes it all ok. Alternorock is dead and the "box" is probably the nail in the coffin ...they seem to rock without a care in the world ...don't call them "nu metal" either, if you try to hard to figure them out, you'll be disappointed ...it's just rock n roll and I like it..." (Woody Johnson - NYC BEAT Magazine) "...these guys obviously don't give a sh*t what current trends are. They write songs that mean something to them and f*ck you if you don't get it...somewhere between Soundgarden and The Cult lies Box of Stuff. Somehow they bridge the gap between sweaty club rock and stadium rock...all the parts are in the right place...these guys know their jobs well..." (Jewels Jackson - Tallahassee Musician) BOXOFSTUFF IS: Conrad Williams - lead vocals, bass A rock n roll singer who feels every word Andrew Falk - guitars rocknroll is coursing thru his veins Chris Koga - drums, vocals the "monster" is a percussion godzilla Sherie Harding - vocals, keyboard she takes the vocals to the next level Frank Koga - guitar makes his guitar wail WHO THE HELL IS THIS BAND?
