The Delinquents were formed in the late 1970's in Austin, Texas who were regular artists at Raul's club during the punk hey days. Their first recording; an EP, included the indie hit, "Alien Beach Party" which was mentioned as hit of the week by the publication,"New Musical Express". An East Coast tour developed soon after and they played CBGB's, and Max's Kansas City in New York and The Rat Club in Boston, just to name a few. In 1980 they recorded their self titled album ,"The Delinquents" to rave reviews and it was not long after that they stepped into the studio again with Lester Bangs, the rock critic. The collaboration with Lester took only three months to put together an even shorter time-16 hours-to record. The album titled,"Jook Savages on the Brazos" was the result. It was quoted that, "Lester's album with the Delinquents was the predecessor of so-called alternative-country bands such as Wilco and Son Volt".
"Jook Savages on the Brazos" is the result.
