After being in and out of the studio for the past few months, The Visitors will soon be releasing their fourth full length album in their five year history.
The Visitors turbulent history starts somewhere with punk and their pure energy driven sound from the streets of East Dallas. Seemingly mad and unorthodox, it all swung around sometime in 1998 when ex UK Subs, Splodgenessabounds & Riot Squad, Benjie Bollox met up with ex Determined & Caulk, John Beach to form a band together. Another ex Determined, Riot Squad & Severed Heads, Steve Jones was enticed into the fray and along with him came ex Head Cleaner, Ted Uhlemann.
Dallas hadn’t seen anything like it, frenzied gigs around town saw The Visitors blend of Punk Rock, New Wave & pure Rock N Roll attract a group of fans as wild as the band.
The first LP “Sniffing Glue” came out in June ’98 on Mind Kontrol Records with the controversial cover that was designed for The Visitors by Tom Ellard of Severed Heads and right after that was the limited edition LP “Visitors Peas & Chips Please Twice” on Noise Noise Noise Records which was released in August ’98 and immediately the group attracted international acclaim. Their third LP, the more melodic “Thanks For Nothing” also released on Noise Noise Noise Records, released in July 2001 saw the group firmly established as one of the decades most celebrated artists.
As The Visitors LP’s continued to sell constantly, they were named one of the top 25 independent bands in the USA and shot to number one in Billboard’s independent charts for a whole week straight, but it has always been the live show that the group has been treasured for the most.
The Visitors completed a USA tour in the fall of ‘02 entitled “Visitour 2002”. In the years past they have toured with legendary UK punk bands UK Subs, The Vibrators & Vice Squad, which they continue to do every year in the autumn. While a member of UK Subs, Benjie Bollox co-wrote the UK Subs song “Riot” which became a huge success across the globe. Riot is still played at some of The Visitors live shows today.
The line up now includes ex Rooftop Bondage & also Riot Squad, Wade Creepy & ex The Classics, Markuss Karkuss. With the current line up The Visitors have been heralded as the best line up ever in the History of The Visitors.
The Visitors have been receiving commercial media attention and radio airplay from Dallas, to New York, to Europe & Australia. The Visitors are even featured in the new full length Jordan Sussman movie “The Anarchist Cookbook”.
With a new studio album on the way, the 16 new tracks on this album clearly represent a calculated change in their musical direction, with anticipation of commercial airplay. This album will offer all the energy of punk, coupled with The Visitors own inimitable and diverse style. Catch them while you can, The Visitors are the next big thing.
