Italian Memories - GodsOfMusic Review (4/9/2002):
Dimitrios Bentilas has produced a nice little gem here. Italian Memories. This is a contemporary classical piece with a somber mood and a professional sound. The song has quite an interesting feel, and it sounds very "Italian". I can picture this being used as a film score in "The Godfather". The piece is a mixture of upbeat and melancholic textures with a progressive melody. Every instrument in the song, woodwinds, strings, and the horns, all sound admirable.
The specific aura is hard to distinguish in this piece. The tonality of the woodwinds reflects sadness, yet the song itself is more upbeat and not so dreary. The melody, in its entirety, is quite lulling, and full of simplistic splendor. This whole song is beautiful treat for an orchestra. The choice of instruments here is quite good, and their individual sound is robust. All of these make quite a splendid blend.
I must commend Mr. Bentilas for such a nice, well-orchestrated piece. It holds within it a very authentic orchestral feel; a quality much desired in pieces like this. This is a song that will leave an interesting "Italian memory" in my mind. Hunter H.

Since I'm not a Premium Artist any more (after the money change), mp3.com wouldn't
allow me to shape my song list as I like, so I couldn't unlist the previous versions of those two tracks.
So, you can just disregard them, or listen to them and compare them to the new versions.

This is a new version of Marching through the Woods. It features medieval Harps and Flutes. It's a fine example of how can a different orchestration create a whole new beautiful atmosphere of the same piece. The track was recorded again after some new things I added and it's up as "new". |

My newest composition. It starts with an acoustic guitar and somewhere in the middle it turns into a symphonic piece, with the guitar playing alogn with the orchestra. It feauteres high and low dynamics, very sweet and very powerful parts, beautiful melodies. There is no way someone wouldn't like it |
