It's not an exaggeration to say that Soul Syfer will probaly be one of the greatest rap groups of our time.
For Soul Syfer it was just two turntables and a microphone and some times just a boom box in their beginning days. DJ Gusto who was doing local parties at the time, one night open for the well known DJ Jack of Spade. Being inspired by jack and knowing music was all he wanted to do, Gusto decided to put a mixed tape out with some guys from around the neighborhood raping on it. After getting a good response from classmates at school and family, Gusto decided to form a rap group. The name of the group would be black grenades but later they changed it to Soul Syfer. The members of the group are Chozen, Prime, and Gusto.
For a while Soul Syfer perform at house parties and some times just on the block, against other groups in freestyle contest. Everyday they would write music and practice their freestyle technique. Their goal was to be prepared for anything.
Inspired by stars like Nas, Wu tang, Mobb Deep, Biggie , and LL Cool J Soul Syfer did all they could to try to make a dream come true. Although Soul Syfer had all the elements to make it as a rap group, they were missing one thing, a place to record their music professionally. One day a drummer name Ruffus listen to one of their tapes and liked what he heard. Ruffus told them of a guy named Ernest Smith who has a studio. After one listen of Soul Syfer in the booth at miprod recording studio the owner of miprod entertainment new he had his next act.
