Is this just a catchy song about a radio emperor or part of an insidious plot by the government to convince the youth of america to buy lots of 9 Volt batteries?? ....You be the judge. |

I was sitting in a diner with a couple of friends having a cup of coffee. It was about 2:30 a.m. or so on a Friday night. I get a dollar from my wallet and walk over to the jukebox and pick several songs. One of the songs was a Marshall Crenshaw song that I really dug. (I can't remember what the others were.) Then I started thinking about the old "Schoolhouse Rock" cartoon about nouns and how the girl in the cartoon picking songs from a jukebox was supposed to help you learn about nouns. I go back to the table and my friends and I start talking about our favorite "Schoolhouse Rock" songs. I tell them I had a crush on the girl who was in the "Figure 8" cartoon. Uhhhhhhh......I guess this story doesn't have anything to do with the song. Sorry about that, it's a good song, it rocks and it's in the key of F. |
