Grab your grass skirt and ukulele for this little ditty. My wife probably won’t remember helping me with the lyrics –way back when. This fun, novelty tune offered a great opportunity to use a bunch of different keyboard sounds. |

Perhaps the first Country-Western Samba, this nostalgic, up-tempo song was written back in the early ‘80’s. When we first moved to Nebraska in 1974 my brother-in-law introduced me to pheasant hunting and NU Football. This song got its inspiration from surviving many post hunting/game-day celebrations. |

An experiment in jazz interludes. After writing ‘You & I Remain’ I had a bunch of wild lyrics left over that had nothing to do with the original. However, I did like these left overs (they remind me of a song by Les McAnn & Eddie Harris 'Compared To What') and thought they would fit into a jazzy ‘Steely Dan’ type of arrangement. The lyrics are interlaced into the song, similar to what normally happens to instrumental solos in vocal based songs. This free-wheeling feel was also a nice way to show off different keyboard sounds. The chord changes are identical to the original. |
