Grip is the second movement from my violin concerto; "Cries and Execrations of the Mob". The title is a line from Charles Dickens' novel Burneby Rudge, Grip is the raven in the novel who oversaw all the events of the book. Grip starts of as "big band music for strings", the jazzy melody develops to intense atonal dimensions |

Credits: The performance is by Miltios Papastamou and the Athens Kamarata, recorded live at D. Mitropolis hall on March 22, 2000 in Anthens, Greece. |
