Welcome to the Web Home of Foreign Presence!

Foreign Presence is an electronic artist from
Waterloo, Ontario. Styles range from Drum n Bass to electro-classical,
with an emphasis on the darker side of the scene. FP has
been active in the underground mixtape (Canada) and Amiga music
(Europe) scene since 1992 under a variety of names, and remains
committed to experimenting with all kinds of dark, atmospheric,
and euphoric sounds.
On this web site you will find a selection of songs written using
various equipment over the past decade. New Songs will be added
in the coming months. The best of the past decade is available on
the CD release "Homage",
available directly from this site.

The site allows you to download and listen to music in the MP3 format.
As such you will need a program that can play MP3's. If you are running
a new version of Microsoft Windows then you should be OK, as Windows Media
player supports the playing and streaming of MP3 files. If you do not
like Media Player or are not running Windows there are many free music
players that support MP3's. The recommended players are WinAmp
(I use it) and MusicMatch
Jukebox (this program does it all - playing, ripping, burning cds
- extremely useful). Click on their links for more information.
Once your player is set up you can listen to and download music ABSOLUTELY
FREE from this page by clicking the various round icons associated with
each song.

If you have a cable modem, DSL or are at work/school
using a high speed network, you can select the HI-FI play option.
The song will stream from Mp3.com directly into your music player
and you'll be able to hear the song in near-CD quality without waiting! |

If you are on a 56k or lower connection (ie you are
using a dial-up service) select the LO-FI option to hear songs streaming
directly into your music player. The sound quality will not be too
great, but you can still use LO-FI to "preview" a song before
deciding to download it |
