update 2001:
GRO: spanning a decade in hip hop
Where is the Box set? (1992-2002)
It started at ECU (East Carolina University) in Greenville North Carolina in the summer of 1992. Spearheaded by high school friends (Greg Watson & Hasan R. Abdallam). Grass Root Organization or GRO for short, captured and maintained loyal counterparts and fans regionally and world wide for over a decade. Not to mention Locking down a Radio station (wzmb) from 96-00 and a local nightspot (Peasants) 96-00. Featuring live Performances on a weekly basis by Dj. MERLIN and Crew, BLAQ CEEDS (pafu & POE), MR. WATSON aka
C-HOC, J-LOCKE, BLACKMEL and a host of others. "Look man that's what we do"says Mr. Watson. "It's all Love". It began at the Funk Den (a mobile home in rural Greenville), NASTYS (David Freeman) bedroom. David"Nasty" Freeman was the exclusive producer of GRO from its conception to around 1999.
The FUNK DEN introduced artist such as Blackmel (aka: Superstition), Blaq ceeds, Mr. Watson, J-Locke, Beyond & Duo. "NASTY'S just an incredible producer and his music speaks for itself". He has an authentic sound and can only be labeled simply as " A NASTY TRACK". His distinctive sound can be heard Splattered throughout timeless classics such as BLAQ. CEEDS album "CURE FOR ALL.," NASTY'S TRACKS with BLAQ CEEDS Flow provide a mainstay for a distinctive sound. You couldn't spend your money in a better fashion, and you know this when BLAQ CEEDS scream " I pray to god to keep it street".
Another beautifully crafted "NASTY TRACK" hollers at ya on MR. WATSON'S long awaited single "THE ANTHEM" w/S.S.T.C (SouthernSlangthang.Coalition) dedicated to his crew and the years of paying dues. You can hear every word stressed in the mature delivery of
"C-HOC," landscaped through the crystal clear sounds that dance off your dome in a melodic sharp tone "You know me." Replys MR WATSON .
First out the Camp comes PAFU's (of Blaq Ceeds) 12" "CHIVA THEORY" ,
a definite Summer banger. Also stay tuned for the repressed "BOMB THREAT COMPILATION" retitled and packaged by XIInc (xtra-infinite inc.) as NASTY TRACKS "the xtra files"

These tracks can be listened to at www.xtra-infinit.com Also dropping outa the camp is USEPHASAN & HIS debut Lp SCIENC.ESQUIZIT" , Also look for BEYOND'S "Byonic" album, DUO'S 12" single and more.
