HABIT- "AS
THE PLOT THICKENS"
Meaning in instinct, automatic, natural, far from
dramatized. I dont know whats wrong with hip hop today but when i
look at it it seems everything im not. So why do i wanna be apart
of something that despises me; well the challenge to prove
everyone wrong. Im not Black ! Im not White! How to cope in a
Black and White world when your neither, who knows but you still
gotta search for yourself no matta what you are. Thats why i do
music cause i beleive its me and when i look at myself thats what
i see. Im from Brooklyn, NY; home of some of the best rappas eva,
but i dont fit in that Jay-Z drop the bentley mentality. Im more
of a Kweli but i feel i cant represent that. In a time where
clubs are filled wit frauds and vigilantes im lookin for a way to
pass off my individuality in my poetics. I call hip hop a art
because it takes song, rhythm and intellegence, especially
creativity. I also feel mid west and down south rap is taking
away from that. I hate when i see a video wit a phat booty chick
shakin it. Is that what we want everyone to think of when they
see hip hop. I don't so i wanna change somethin that is saturated.
I also am puerto rican which i will not capitalized till its
independent and not a common wealth. Thats my political side and
its big to me cause i feel my culture is dying both in my
ethnicity and occupation. WHAT CAN I DO?: Peep The Radio Station Too
