The self-titled debut album by Billy Wicked
is an excercise in edgy rock and roll originality.
The heady, contemplative lyrics suggest an intelligence
not seen in the Birmingham music scene for some time now.
The soulful voice of lead singer Jonathan Owens reeks of
real life experience similar to that of Creed's Scott Stapp.
The driving force of Frank McDonald's lead guitar in "Indecision
and "Hold On" suggests influences such as Randy Rhodes and Eddie
Van Halen. Overall, Billy Wicked is definately worth the listen.
It is a dish seasoned by the likes of Blue Murder and Creed, but
once tasted is a flavorful entree of original sound.
