Something Different and Friends was started in 2000 to showcase some great Humboldt talent. Here are recordings are live recordings of our best buds improvizing with the Something Different Trio. The music here is free and the surroundings create soundscapes. The project features Davy and Ann Dijoux, on precussion. Russman, on Guitar. Guile, Drums, Nick Cjhonaski, on Precussion. Sara McMahon, on Vibes. Kiersten Collie, on Wood Frog. soon to feature Steve Watts, Nate Wagner, and Manifest. The Trio: Kevin Kotaka, Ryan Cassidy, and Erin Cassidy, give thanks to all. More to come, and more friends too.

This cut is the higlight of our Pamplin Grove second set for the wedding of Drew and Terri Devine. The Redwoods surrounding us gave a good energy and sound to the recording. A tribute to the greats of the 80s, like: Herbie Hancock, and Rockwell, Please Enjoy, Russ rips it up and comes up with the melody. |

A Live improvizational circle Recorded in Ryan's Living Room, starting with Nick Choinaski, Davy Dijoux, Erin Cassidy, Sara McMahon, Kiersten Collie, Ann Dijoux, Kevin Kotaka, Ryan Cassidy. Erin plays his Yamaha electronic drums, expanding the soundscapes, and adding humor. Sounds very raw and fun. Everyone has a laugh in the end. |
