Alexandre Cellier (1883-1968) was a pupil of the celebrated French organist C.M. Widor, and organist at the Temple-d'Etiole in Paris. He wrote several organ works, this one his first published in 1906. This first movement is a gentle, rocking piece played mostly on soft flutes, building in the middle with warm foundations, tapering back off again to a whimsical ending on the softest flutes. |
