In 1995 Geoff Achison won the Albert King Award for most promising guitarist at the 12th Annual International Blues Talent Competition, held in Memphis.
Moments after the announcement, Gibson Guitars signed up Geoff as its sole Australian endorsee.

Melbourne based Geoff Achison is a blues artist gaining considerable international repute, giving a remarkable and memorable performance as a complete musician, with his voice and guitar playing captivating overseas audiences. Geoff is now working in the US and UK for 5 months of the year, both as a solo artist, and with his band, 'the Souldiggers'. His latest tour was to support "Hot Tuna" across the USA in Nov/Dec of 2000.
His album, 'Mystery Train', was album of the month with BBC London's 'Jazz FM'.
His Australian Blues Awards include Best New Male Artist, Best Blues Guitarist, Album of the Year.
