This is in response to the backhanded practices that exist at MP3.com.
I took an interest in the site about a year ago and thought that it would be great to list my band and put up some sound files. A year went by and we started to get some hits to our pages. Things seemed good. Too good to be true.
This morning I was checking our stats and noticed the earnings went back down to $0.00. Now, granted our sum was modest but it was hard earned.
I emailed the appropriate category from the list provided on the contact page and still have not gotten a reply.
We have a great many friends in the business that would be interested to know that MP3.com is a sham. No matter what the independent artist does, there will be no payback equivalent to the efforts made to get the songs heard.
Also, the presence of big name, major-label artists on the site makes it even more difficult for the independent artist.
The site was initially meant for independent artists to share their music with the web community. MP3.com has ruined yet another opportunity to bring independent music to the hungry ears that crave it.
I have deleted everything that I initially uploaded to the site.
I am totally disgusted with VUNet USA Music & Media Group trying to rape the independent artist to make the bottom line earnings.
Many more will follow our lead and dump the dispicable entity know as MP3.com
VUNet USA Music & Media Group is ruining the music community one artist at a time. |
