mp3.com --- goneeeeeeeeeeeee....FOR MY CURRENT MUSIC, GO TO http://www.troutsoup.com/audio/under the new management mp3.com really blows chunks. the popup ads were too much, i'm done putting mp3s here.... if you want to hear my stuff, move on over to www.troutsoup.com and see whats going on. a bit of a diatribe on mp3.comI have decided after using mp3.com for a few months that i do not like the way they operate. I was under the impression it was a web site to spread music and help musicians, but i was wrong. mp3.com is a web site designed to get money out of hopeful musicians any way possible, the most alluring is their P4P program in which musicians pay 20$ a month to HOPEFULLY get enough plays to make back their 20$ a month and then some. But mp3.com will take back the money of artists that are too successful (read: analogue pussy) The other racket is their payola & auction systems where hopeful musicians pay money to get prominent placement on their page and mailers. don't for a second believe that musicians that are highlighted on their site or emails have earned those slots, they paid cold hard cash for them. i've also noticed that their formula for calculating the P4P amount that musicians are supposed to be paid by is NOT PUBLISHED and from what i can tell has only gotten worse as far as payout amount. thank you, trout.
