Exiting, Dynamic and live! The Shining are a band with more influences than you can shake a stick at!
For the past four years six northeast lads have been creating, playing and moulding into one of the best live original acts. In a time when miming is the norm and musical talent is spinning a record The Shining are a breath of fresh air. Competent musicians driven by the Davidson brother's sometimes turbulent song writing partnership, gelling to create a tide of music to wash your soul and reassure your faith in live music. When this band plays, they rock! Their live act incorporates long jams and improvisation and they will play all night long if you let them!
The debut album 'Introducing the Band' is the culmination of many ideas brought together and was recorded during winter 2001. The Shining wanted to create an album containing the many different styles they play and the album reflects their musical durability from the laid back feel of 'All the people' to the crunching guitars of 'moving on' and the Latin space rock of the albums grand finale 'In the Sun'. The album is a taste of the bands live performance and shows that The Shining deserve the respect they are getting.
