"why reinvent the wheel online via an all-pixel dream?"
Noted poet Kenward Elmslie asks this question in this live reading of Cyberspace, a book-length poem.
Cyberspace, a book-length poem that resulted from a collaboration between Elmslie, artist Trevor Winkfield,
three issues of WIRED magazine and a half a century of cut-up experimentation mixed
together on "blend."
The Kenward Elmslie channel also includes a live reading of Nite Soil,
a "book" of collage-poems, as well as a few selected cuts from "The Grass Harp," a
Broadway musical where Elmslie served as the librettist.
Both books are available from Granary Books.

In 1999, Kenward Elmslie released a set of collage-poetry postcards called NiteSoil. Each card is beautifully illustrated with words and images by Kenward Elmslie. Here, Kenward opens a fresh decks of Nite Soil cards and reads each one in order. About eight minutes long, "NiteSoil" allows you to hear the range of Kenward's language and the offbeat narrative of this wonderful release. |
