It's a story as old as rock n' roll. Two friends got together to write songs. The sound they made was good, but they had trouble keeping a consistent tempo. So, they enlisted the help of another friend. Now, the sound was good and had a steady beat, but it wasn't nearly loud enough. So, they recruited two more friends. Now the sound was good, danceable and loud beyond their wildest imaginations... and they called it the Headlands Band. These are the names of all those people and what they do: Matt Tritto sings and writes a lot of words and melodies. He also likes to jump up and down. Brad Towne plays guitar and a few other things. Sometimes he sings, then people ask him to stop. He writes songs, too. Miguel Zelaya plays guitar and sings and writes songs and dresses very stylishly indeed. Conor McCormack plays bass and piano and enjoys confusing friends with his creative facial hair. Peter Tower plays the drum kit. He takes very nice photographs and he is thinking of buying a truck. Sometimes he dyes his hair green. All five of these people live in or around San Francisco, California. Some of them live in the same house. An EP of new material will be released soon. Available at this site are two songs from the EP, as well as two songs from the album Headlands Band and the single, "Border Song," featured in the film Borders by Ted Kroeber. Currently the band is at work on a full length album. The official web site, headlandsband.com, is being rennovated, but do check in for the latest information and club dates. As always, management requests that you wash your hands before visiting headlandsband.com. Thank you.
