Sometimes you hear an artist for the first time, at an open mic or small show, and instantly know that if he (or she) only had an album you have to own it. So it was with Ric Salazar; after hearing him play two songs at FitzGerald's one night, I knew if he hadn't yet recorded anything I would have to convince him into the studio. Turns out he had been working out his songs on 4-track cassette for a while, and was already thinking about getting it recorded in a studio.

Therefore, I'm proud to introduce the debut, self-titled EP of Ric Salazar. Five songs dealing with the ideas of growing old and lost love, it showcases not only Ric's musical diversity and proficiency on a number of instruments (including the accordion, guitar, B-bender, and harmonica), but also the lyrical ear of a true poet.
