In the spring of 2000, I was fortunate enough to be a board member of the Buffalo Commons Storytelling Festival, in McCook, Nebraska. That year they won the state of Nebraska Local Legacy Award and their festival memorabilia was archived in the Library of Congress with all the other states in the union, each having won a single award also. With that festival archive, I was commissioned to write a theme song for Buffalo Commons. This is that song. It says in these few words the whole life of plains people. It is a work I cherished doing. They are a group of the most enduring, determined, single-minded people of our country. It has been my pleasure to have known and lived among them. |

Sometimes we get the feeling things are really getting out of our hands. This has a rock beat with message lyrics. Listen carefully. |

This is a gentle, soft love song. Done with just a vocal and acoustic guitar. This one is from the heart. |
