THIS WEEK’S FEATURED RAG: This week’s featured rag is NAPPY LEE. The aim of this site is to entertain and educate and spread the word about one of the greatest (and underrated) art-forms, RAGTIME. The great tunes, the clever cadences and the rhythmic vitality are the reasons the world loves RAGTIME. But the purity of form, the sheer satifaction of listening to a great rag (like Joplin’s Searchlight Rag) unfolding are a joy and a wonder to behold, they bring that deep satisfaction that make ragtime a form of music that will be listened to and loved centuries from now. Ragtime undoubtedly also has for us nowadays, a sense of nostalgia, evoking the turn of the century in America, all the gaiety and sheer sense of freedom and joy.
