WuHsing is the theory of five elements in chinese theology, each element (water, fire, wood, metal, earth) creates and destroys another element (water destroys fire, fire destroys metal, metal destroys wood, wood destroys earth, earth destroys water) (metal becomes water, water becomes wood, wood becomes fire, fire becomes earth). This is the central Theory of Xing Yi (mind-intention) boxing. The oldest school of internal martial arts, represented by it's fast and furious attacks, heavy strikes, and capability to change at a moments notice, always leaving the opponent off guard. Despite it's simple movements, XingYi has always been one of the more effective martial arts in China, and is revered throughout the martial circle. |
