A beautiful melody played with an alternating bass line (sometimes called a Travis Pick). This old song was often sung or played on a solitary violin for cowboy funerals.

This is only a 17 second melody I keep repeating with brief improv's in between. It is the bass line that makes the arrangement. I don't know when the song was actually written. I found it in a book of traditional folk tunes.

The composor of these two pieces are unknown, though the second - Bionco Fiore - is attributed by some to Ceasar Negri. I play these in standard tuning. I have hear others play them in drop "D" tuning.
