Enter Moka Only. Born in Vancouver BC, Canada this upcoast emcee has consistantly innovated the art of rhyming; consistantly pushing it to new heights. Moka joined his fist group, Sound Advice in '89. He and his partners Juice Dub, Degree One & DJ Tee Double made their video debut in '90 with a cut called "Tightrope." Sound Advice remains as the pioneering Hip Hop group of Victoria. In '91 Moka left to form Split Sphere with Prevail(of Swollen Member). Together they excelled creatively, broadening the horizons of local hip hop. When Moka went solo in '94 he had established a rep as an adept freestyler; on multiple occasions when the headling act has called for an "off the top freestyle session" Moka has not only stepped to the mic, but left the headliners in the shadows, wondering if they should hit the mic again! Moka has earned himself a large audience of loyal listeners from the Northwest region (the "UpCoast") to San Diego & beyond. Moka comes with no gimmics; just the love of rhyming and hip hop culture coming through in his music and live performances. Look out for upcoming releases on Universal, Battle Axe and Legendary Ent.
