The pasillo (pronounced "paseeyo") is a traditional Colombian rhythm dating to the 19th century. This fast, 3/4 rhythm has its roots in Spanish music and is popular in the interior of the country. Most pasillos are instrumental, and were danced to by the "criollos", Colombians of Spanish descent. |
