A song of hope and wonder that gives a taste of our heavier side. (Heavy philosophy? Poetic metal? Whatever.) We really like this kind of groove, though the rest of the demo features more of our rock/pop/alternative stuff. Anyway, rock on, Socrates. |

A mid-tempo tune with a subtle country twang hidden in there, this one was written for a friend who lost his father before his grandson could get to know him. Very sad, though not gloomy. The laid-back, cruising feel to the music almost belies the mournful subject matter of the lyrics. |

A bona fide (not obligatory) ballad to round out the demo. Largely a song of doubt, though not that smug, annoying, early-90s kind. The hammered dulcimer seemed appropriate for the feel of the song, but ended up sounding a lot more like a piano than we'd have liked. Should've known to be nervous when the (extremely competent) engineer said "What's that thing?" Still, the song is among our favorites, from anyone. |
