In your minds eye, picture hardwood floors, a sliding door view of a sunny day, green grass, fresh air shafts of light slanting across wooden floors, wooden chair, wooden guitar. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!
Antique Wood is an improvisational acoustic guitar project by Brian Benjamin Carter. These are 3-4 minute long improvisations on the acoustic guitar. The only editing applied is the addition of a cathedral-like reverb.
You may wonder: Why Improvisations? I owe it to my biggest fan, who heard me just messing around and was amazed every time. This led me to bring more consciousness and skill to the improvisational acoustic guitar. I believe improvisations are superior to compositions for several reasons: they are a slice of life for real, live, and in the moment, they are a representation of ones true abilities (no room for editing or practice, no covering up amateur talent with studio genius), for an ADHD like me, there is no pressure to remember the song, as a performer I will never get stuck playing one over and over again, AND if you like what I do, I can easily give you a lot more!
I hope you enjoy them, and if you do, please let me know by way of the contact tab above! Thanks, Brian Benjamin Carter.
