Tonga was a side project of two different bands
which will be unnamed here. All members played under
aliases. The idea at the time (1989) was to perform
raw punk rock that "made Metallica sound like Burl Ives".
One year later, Nirvana came along and proved the
vision correct; still, Tonga remains an unfulfilled
dream of the participants, who remain active musicians
and have popular local careers...
