Born in New Westminster, British Columbia, Joseph
Michael Rynoski (aka Mike Reno) made his first foray
into the world of rock-n-roll not behind the microphone -
but behind the drum kit.
At age twelve Mike financed his first set of drums
thanks to his paper route. His love for music soon
expanded as he learned to play the guitar and
eventually gravitated to the role that would make
him famous and lead to seven Gold or Multi-Platinum
recordings - lead singer.
After graduating from high school Mike moved to
Calgary and focused singing and songwriting. Mike
fronted several different bands including Moxy.
Finally, in 1978 Mike met guitarist Paul Dean
during an impromptu jam in Calgary and Loverboy
was born.

In the late 1980's the five-piece, Canadian
powerhouse Loverboy churned out the hits one right
after the other. They were staples on both radio
and MTV as the band's trademark brand of infectious,
high-energy rock garnered them millions in album sales.
Mike Reno's powerful voice has also graced the
"big screen," performing hit songs from two Oscar-winning
movies. In 1984, Mike joined with Heart vocalist
Ann Wilson to record their Top 10 duet Almost
Paradise for the movie Footloose. In addition,
in 1986 Mike and his Loverboy bandmates charted
another movie hit with Heaven In your Eyes from
the motion picture Top Gun.
Today Mike Reno continues to tour with Loverboy
and enjoys his three great loves-his family, boating and golf.
