DAVE JENKINS
Pablo Cruise
The Voices of Classic Rock Station
(songs below bio info)
Pablo Cruise defined the laid-back California surf sound of the
late '70's and early '80's . . . a sound that resulted in five Top
40 hits. Pablo's co-founder and voice Dave Jenkins has (uniquely)
also enjoyed success on both the Pop and Country Charts.
Pablo Cruise was originally formed in 1973 in the San Francisco
Bay Area by David Jenkins, Cory Lerios, Bud Cockrell, and Steve Price.
In 1976, the band had their first Top 10 hit with, Whatcha Gonna
Do (When She Says Good-bye) from the Platinum album,
A Place in the Sun.
On the band's next release, Worlds Away, Dave took over lead
vocal responsibilities and delivered the classic blue-eyed soul hits,
Love Will Find A Way, Don't Wanna Live Without It,
and I Go To Rio. This album, too, went Platinum. The next
two LP's produced even more hits such as I Want You Tonight
and the Top Twenty classic Cool Love, from the sixth album
Reflector.
In 1986, Dave joined Keith Knudsen (Doobie Brothers), John McFee
(Doobie Brothers) and Creedence Clearwater bassist Stu Cook in
the hard-driving Country Rock band, Southern Pacific. On
their 1987-88 release Zuma, Dave wrote and sang two Top 10 Country hits.
