Once in a while, a band comes along that possesses a fresh new sound,
a sound identified by solid songwriting, a great voice, passionate musical
performances, and an undeniable chemistry between the band members.
Crash Comet is that band.
Crash Comet formed two years ago when guitarist Phil Palazzolo
approached Pete Cintorino about writing songs together. The two had met
on the local club circuit where Phil was also a well known and respected
sound engineer and Pete a top-notch 'veteran' singer. Shortly afterwards
they were joined by bassist Joe Bertino, also a veteran of the Long Island
club scene. But it wasn't until a few months later, when phenom drummer
Chris Tibaldi joined, that all the pieces fell into place and the group truly
became a band.
Together Crash Comet creates a stellar combination of groove oriented
modern rock, catchy hooks and great live shows that allow them to stand
out from the rest of today's groups. Phil's guitar work layers the music with
taste and subtlety rarely found in today's rock music, while providing the
perfect amount of punch when called for. Pete, long regarded one of New
York's finest rock voices, delivers everything from the smoothest vocal runs
to the raunchiest of screams whenever the music demands. Joe adds
extremely creative, yet always solid bass parts to Crash Comet's songs, as
well as great melodic vocal harmonies, while Chris brings a signature groove,
unique drum parts, and dead-on timing that drives and colors the Crash
Comet sound.
Crash Comet has quickly established itself as one of New York's brightest
new acts. Countless performances in New York's top venues have enabled
the band to develop a large and loyal following. Crash Comet has become
"in demand" for some of the New York area's hottest shows. They recently
shared the stage with Matthew Sweet, The Bogmen, and Nine Days (Sony
550), to name a few.
Crash Comet's latest CD was recorded at the Vic Thrill Salon in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and contains four songs, including Tell Me, In My Head, Disappear and Mad World.
