| Jimye & Jack Callaway |
| The Callaway family tradition is one of love expressed in music, inspired by a husband's love
for his wife and a fathers love for his children. With this CD, "Golden Memories", two generations
of the Callaway family share the story of their lives written in song. Jack Callaway,
Michael Callaway's father, was first infused with music as a child by his mother, Evelyn
Callaway, who at the age of eight years old was said to have played the paino for Jesse James and
the Younger Brothers Gang in Missouri. Jack and his mother, at one point, starred in
a half-hour radio show, "Jack and His Uke". As a young man, Jack married Jimye Thorpe
Callaway, a professional singer who sang with a Big Band in the 1930's. Later Jimye and,
then their children inspired the eighty, or so, songs Jack wrote, often while traveling for work.
Mike recalls his father calling home to sing a newly compossed song to his mother as she excitedly listened.
