Villa-Lobos loved to combine the influences of Bach, Brazilian popular music, and the folk tunes of the Amazon tribes. The title is translated "Dance of the White Indian", which is the composer's facetious reference to himself. Enjoy the vigorous Latin rhythms and irrepressible keyboard shenanigans! |

This is the mighty D major organ fugue of J.S. Bach, transcribed for piano by Ferruccio Busoni. Bach begins the fugue with a minimalistic subject: running up and down the first three notes of the scale. But wait and listen! The composer turns that unpromising beginning into something startling. |
