A sad, yet optimistic song about a hit man who is forced to do the unthinkable: kill a sock. It is the classic noir setting of one man, his boss, a sock, death, and the comic stylings of one Mr. Joe Piscipo. Or rather, it is some of that. |

One day, whilst sipping from our lovely new vat of pink lemonade, we said to one another, "Let's take the day off. We shall sit and let the day consume us." "But who will write the songs that must be wroted?" asked the other, using an incorrect form of "write". It was quickly decided that a young girl, Julie her name, should write and sing this here song, with the W.G. reading selections from a poem she'd written on a long vehicular journey. Good gravy is it ever good. |

An instant classic with any fan of Irritable Colon's earlier work (which of course started out with the Missouri blues of 1945 to 1947). This rare recording of a live performance at the famous Old Willard's House O' Booze and Loose Ethics, was recording in June of 1946. |
