Band History:
Eric & Scott met five years ago when Scott first landed in
NYC and Eric was sleeping outside and playing in the subways for just enough
money to "have some fun." After exhausting all avenues, Eric headed
back to Portland, OR. Skip ahead to 1998; Eric arrived in NYC for good, rejoining
his good friend . Formed over a year ago when Scott and Eric decided to explore
the inevitable, the In Habitants started out as musical collaboration and a
good excuse to get a studio space. "We got together almost nightly at our
Ludlow & Grand studio space, writing songs, plugging in equipment, learning
how to use it; essentially experimenting with melodies and machinery."
As many as 15 songs were started, 8 were finished and 4 were recorded at their
Chateau Relaxo Studio. Along the way, Steve joined, adding a whole new spectrum
of sounds and propulsive rhythm, and they played a bunch of shows in and around
the Lower East Side of NYC. The rest is yet to come...
