on this CD recording, Mae Thomas
sings her own style, often using her own arrangement of traditional hymns
and African-American Spirituals, often unaccompanied. Mae
sings at Regional events of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and
has sung at most churches in the Kansas City Region.

Bill
Laursen is a bandleader,
singer, piano player, songwriter and arranger performing primarily in
Kansas City Area clubs and hotels. He plays for benefits, shows and
special events. He began piano with his mother as teacher and went from
high school to the Mutual Musicians Foundation to study jazz, later to
study with the legendary pianist George Salisbury.
Bill brings vocal and
piano spiritual music to many churches including his own, Community Christian Church. |
Andy Sherwood
plays clarinet and saxophone as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Band. He
performs an annual benefit concert for his church family, the First Baptist
Church, New London, CT, and does gigs in and around that area. In 1956 Andy
began church life in the baby nursery with a Baptist/Disciple congregation at
United Church, Milwaukee, WI, where the editor of the Chalice
Hymnal, Daniel
Merrick, was the minister. |
Cynthia Egger,
recognized classical guitar artist, plays and sings all varieties of music and
performs throughout the Kansas City area and has recorded with her own band.
Cindy also plays electric bass. She teaches at Rockhurst University and at
Johnson County Community College. She is Guitarist and Music Director at St.
Andrew Christian Church.

Percussionist Mark
Lowry performs with the Kansas City
Symphony, the State Ballet of Missouri, and the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra.
He is on the faculty of Central Methodist College and the International Music
Camp. Mark enjoys a wide variety of music. He is co-founder of newEar, a
professional contemporary chamber group and has many soundtrack recordings for
Missouri Repertory Theater. Mark is a member of Community Christian Church. |
Eli Heng Chamberlain
is the daughter of Cuban immigrants and learned Spanish first. She is a graduate
of William Jewell College with bachelors degrees in both English and music.
She is a past member of the Kansas City Symphony Chorus and the Fine Arts Choral
of Kansas City. Eli is a charter member St. Andrew Christian Church. She
sings the unforgettable "Digo Si Senor"

Thom Greathouse
is the organist at Community Christian Church where he leads and
participates in musical presentations. With his own accompaniment on
piano, his vocal style lends
itself to the spirituality of traditional hymns. |
