	When I first heard Avril Lavigne sing I was truly inspired and so the first song I ever wrote and recorded for her was born. It was absolutely amazing. The cut you hear is one take. At the age of 14, having never been in a studio, she walked in like a pro and nailed it!

	Avril Lavigne sings this song that I co-wrote as a tribute to E.Pauline Johnson or Tekahionwake (her Mohawk name) who was taken by cancer in 1913 at the age of 51. She is one of Canada's most endearing and enduring poets. Long live her spirit!
