Mike Botts, legendary member of the soft-rock supergroup Bread ("Make
It With You," "Everything I Own," "Baby-I'm-A-Want-You"), has just
released his long-awaited debut solo CD, "Adults Only," on Sonic
Oasis Records. This new CD, carefully crafted with the help of such
famous musicians as Lee Sklar, Andrew Gold, Bob Glaub and many
others, is nothing short of an adult-contemporary tour-de-force.
Long-recognized as a "drummer's drummer," Mike Botts now not only
steps forward on this CD with a veritable showcase of wry, poignant
songwriting, but also with a voice Linda Ronstadt has called " a real
gift." Songs such as "Squeeze," "Avenue 63," "What's That Comin',"
and "The Wait" are perfect examples of Mike's unique
singer/songwriter approach. "What you hear on this CD is the
culmination of my experiences over the last 15 years, from pain to
sorrow to joy - with a dose of humor where needed!"
Having been a member of Bread and the principal drummer for Dan
Fogelberg and Linda Ronstadt (not to mention hundreds of famous
sessions), Mike has witnessed singing and songwriting from some of
the best in music business history. Now it's Mike's turn to shine,
with a sound slightly reminiscent of Sting, Randy Newman and Rod
Stewart, but with a voice and truth all his own - a truly gifted,
compelling storyteller.
