Clarinetist Joaquin Valdepeņas was born in Mexico, studied at Yale University and upon graduation was appointed to the Toronto Symphony as Principal Clarinet. He has performed in music festivals such as Banff, Casals, Edinburgh, Marlboro, Mostly Mozart and Nagano in Japan. He is a member of the chamber ensemble Amici and teaches at the University of Toronto and the Aspen Music Festival. He is in increasing demand as soloist in concertos from Mozart to Corigliano with orchestras throughout North America. Fred Rizner is Principal Horn of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Born in Detroit Michigan, he began playing the horn at the age of ten. During his student years he played with many Civic Orchestras in and around Detroit and was a winner of the Detroit Symphony's Young Artist Competition. After graduation from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, he joined the Toronto Symphony. as a soloist he has performed with many orchestras in Canada and the USA, and has performed and taught at Summer Festivals at Banff Alberta and Keystone, Colorado. The English Chamber Orchestra is among the Best Professional Orchestras in the World with numerous Gold Recordings, and Concerts throughout the World.
