Airsculpture
are a british trio who formed in the mid 1990s
with the express aim of recapturing the magic of
"real" electronic music.
Airsculpture's music is heavy on sequencing and
abstract melodics. Almost all of the music is
completely improvised (be it in the studio or
on-stage). While the band's influences (Tangerine
Dream, Klaus Schulze) speak loudly, they have
found a unique style within that genre.
As one of the founders of the british-lead revival of the
"Berlin School" sound, Airsculpture have helped
restore some of the power and energy that was
missing from the electronic music scene for so long.

This is the opening track of the Live double CD "Quark Soup". It also opened our 1999 Nijmegen concert, and is performed sitting on the edge of the stage using only three tiny (but powerful!) Nord Modular keyboards. Despite this the track runs through a wide range of electronic styles - strange abstract soundspaces, atmospheric pads and a driving, infectious sequence. |
