The album "Songs from Basiofatee" was recorded in the Winter of 99. Outside the snow was building forms with lightness, the rhythmic swirl of cascading crystal forms floated down to earth, slowly creating a solid white blanket. It outlined and remade the stark erect forms of the Winter landscape, creating cathedrals and miniature forms flake by flake, building a new sonic landscape. The snow encases you in a silent prismatic down cover, memory and reflection thrives. You can time travel, recapture events, relationships and places. Lick the inner wounds, let music and the deeper wellsprings rise up, and be reborn in the fresh white plenitude. I was looking for flowers to plant in the spring and these songs were some of the varieties I came up with. The album was re-edited later and again in the Winter of 2000, this is its first public release. Colm Folan, Oct.2000.
