SITUATION
WANTED:
Recognizing
that this may be middle age calling and not God, I am open
to exploring the possibility of stepping on a stage again
after a 20+ year hiatus. Are you in the Sacramento, CA area?
Interested in getting together as a spiritually directed,
Christ influenced band (not too overt, please) ? -- Take a
listen to some of my stuff to see if you think we'd be
match. I play by ear and, with a little work, I do ok on
keyboards or bass. Please contact me by clicking
here
to avoid an MP3.com subscription.

Transition seemed to be the theme of many of the tracks from "The Second Half of The Journey". This piece evokes a sense of melancholy and longing, which evolves into the capacity to find direction. It is about, as my friend Cliff used to say, "taking hold of the rudder and steering the boat". So close your eyes. Take a couple of long, slow, deep breaths. Press the "play" button. Enjoy. And thank you for listening. Please be sure to click on song title for information about the composition of this song. This track appears on "The Second Half of The Journey" CD which you may order from http://www.jdwarrick.com/journey/about.htm. |

One of my favorite writers is the Buddhist Thich Nhat Hahn. He sometimes writes about using our breath as part of the process of meditation; "Breathing in I know that I am alive, breathing out I smile". This song is an "in" breath. For those who might not meditate, this description is really a metaphor for a sensation similar to what you could experience standing on a beach at sunset or walking through a forest just as the drizzle starts to fall. Close your eyes. Take a couple of long, slow, deep breaths. Press the "play" button. Enjoy. Thank you for listening. Please be sure to click on song title for information about the composition of this song. Using the piano and strings to achieve an almost chant-like style, Jack's Song was written as a memory of a life passing. |
