Paul Brodie was born in Montreal. Since 1960, he has performed over 2500 concerts in Canada, U.S.A., Mexico, France, England, India, Singapore, Hong Kong,the Philippines, Israel, Australia, China, Italy, Scotland, Russia and Argentina (1998). He is considered to be the most recorded concert saxophonist in the history of the instrument: with many albums recorded for Golden Crest Records, CBC International Service, CBC Enterprise, Truly Fine Records, Classic Edition, Music Minus One, China Records, Dinant Records, and ROI Records (Hong Kong).
Warren Beatty featured his saxophone playing on the soundtrack of his academy award winning film "Heaven Can Wait". He was also included on "Clyde Gilmour's Favourites", and album celebrating Gilmour's 25 years on one of the most famous programs ever heard on CBC Radio. He has appeared as a soloist with most of the leading orchestras in Canada and has often been featured on CBC AM/FM Radio and CBC, CTV and Global Television.
He is the author of "A Student's Guide to the Saxophone", as well as three books of saxophone solos published by Frederick Harris Music. In 1969, Paul Brodie founded the World Saxophone Congress and he has been an artist/clinician for The Selmer Company of the U.S.A. for over 30 years.
In 1994, the Governor General of Canada awarded Paul Brodie "The Order of Canada", This is the highest award given to a Canadian Citizen.

| An-Lun Huang wrote this marvelous composition. Performed with the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, and Conducted by Tak-ng Lai for Saxophone Solo and Full Orchestra. An-Lun is one of China's most renowned composers. I gave the World Premiere of this piece with The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and recorded it with the Moscow Radio Orchestra in 1997, in Moscow. | Wonderful, fun Celtic work. When I grew up on the western Canadian prairies in Saskatchewan back in the 1930's and 40's, I loved going to barn dances to listen to Olde Tyme Fiddle Music and this was one of my favourite pieces. |
