Welcome to my mp3.com page! I am happy that you
have taken the time to listen to some of my works.
I know that by putting my works on mp3.com, I am
enabling any and all to listen freely. It is my
wish to promote and offer my music for people to
listen to. I would like to ask you, however, that
if you enjoy what you hear and intend to download
some of the pieces, please consider purchasing one
of my CD's at my website at http://www.amyscurria.com.
I am a musician by profession and work hard to make
a living at what I do. Please consider supporting my
work by purchasing a CD. Thank you for your interest
and for your support.
Most sincerely,
Amy Scurria

COMPOSED AT AGE 23This piece is for piano and tenor (although this recording is sung by a baritone). The piece is set to a poem written by a friend, Jonathan Pearle, who wrote the poem upon visiting death valley. He had experienced the phenomenon of rain in death valley, a rare event, and wrote this poem. The piece is meant to elicit the sound of sudden rain, that stops just as quickly. |

COMPOSED AT AGE 21This piece was intended as a funny little piece to end my senior recital at Rice University. The piece is for solo violin and spoken text, which the violinist speaks while playing. |
