COMPOSED AT AGE 23This piece is for piano and tenor (although this recording is sung by a baritone). The piece is set to a poem written by a friend, Jonathan Pearle, who wrote the poem upon visiting death valley. He had experienced the phenomenon of rain in death valley, a rare event, and wrote this poem. The piece is meant to elicit the sound of sudden rain, that stops just as quickly.

COMPOSED AT AGE 21This piece was intended as a funny little piece to end my senior recital at Rice University. The piece is for solo violin and spoken text, which the violinist speaks while playing.
