It愀 rather dark most of the time but the sun shines when the chorus breaks through... |

You might wonder why we have two versions of the same song on the page... The thing is we had a bit of a mixup when we admitted the song for review at G.O.M. We悲 done an edit for radio, this one, and meant to admit that for review. But the full version was reviewed and so of course we had to throw that in as well. |

Excerpts from a review by Kristian Maenpaa at GodsofMusic.com:
***************************************************************
"I cannot help but wonder how Iceland seems to produce the most original sounding bands around at the moment. Hljodlatt Strid is driven by some extremely tight bass playing and drums. Once again this shows how important the rhythm section is."
***************************************************************
"Utopium has a very progressive and etheric sound, reminiscent of both Kent, a very famous Swedish band in Northern-Europe, and some Icelandic groups, like Sigur Ros. Pink Floyd also comes to mind. The band keeps up the structure very well, and I would dare to consider Hljodlatt Strid a progressive rock song."
***************************************************************
"The recording sounds like it's straight from an album on a label. If Utopium is going to send this around as a promo, they're bound to get some offers."
***************************************************************
"Since the lyrics are in Icelandic, I can't analyze or know what they're about. I've always loved the language though, and can only come to the conclusion that it's simply beautiful. The singing sounds a bit melancholic, maybe the lyrics are as well?"
***************************************************************
"It's very hard to describe the sound. Some keywords would probably be Nordic, progressive, beautiful, etheric, Icelandic ... Go ahead and give it a listen, right now!"
