Chloe London grew up in Lower Manhattan in New York City. At the age
of nine, she heard her first Blondie album, Parallel Lines, and knew that
what she wanted to do was perform in a band. But it took a progression
of going through playing guitar, drums and bass before she realized that
what she was was a singer. She would lock herself in her room belting
out songs from Blondie to Heart albums. She knew she had a voice, but
also that it would take a lot of hard work to develop it and find her
own style. As a young teenager, she was constantly breaking curfew to
hang out in clubs with friends, listening to bands. At 13, she was
getting on the subway and auditioning for bands in the basements of
various New York apartment houses. Something of a street girl, she
befriended musicians and would manage to con her way into their gigs and
up on stage to sing with them.
