hi... i'm freekboy. i'm an independant artist (or something like that) i write electronic music.
the music is separated into three distinct sections. music in the awakenings section was originally written in the summer of 2000. the style section was produced in the winter of 2000/2001 and the fridge sized magnet project started in the spring of 2002. each of these projects has a different sound.
the awakenings tracks are very loose and experimental, sometimes downright rough. of particular note are the pair of the upbeat syndrome and the tense underground. this is the extended mix of syndrome; the original masters were lost when I moved later that year. the most popular track from this period would probably be in the heat of the night, a shimmering, sweltering groove that finishes with a bang, but my personal favorite is still underground.
the style tracks are from when i began to truely find a sound of my own. i've gotten a lot of response from people on these tracks. when tomorrow comes is by far the most popular track i've written, and don't forget me is its companion piece. aphid has also been warmly recieved, but pure has a lot of emotional significance to me.
fridge sized magnet is a new direction for me. the project, which is still underway, began with a complete change of location and equipment. the sound is very different in a difficult to describe way. The four tracks released so far are dancing in starlight, touching the void, following you downstairs and go go pogo!. touching the void is a short and fun track. go go pogo! is a complicated mass of simple elements. dancing in starlight is both raw and lush. following you downstairs is a strange track remembering old friends and good times.
enjoy

A song that, despite being electronic and unconventional, somehow feels like eccentric pop. |
